Mona Hussein's Positive and Negative Paravent

Mona Hussein Demonstrates The Positive and Negative Paravent

Mona Hussein, the creative mind behind the displayed work Mona Hussein's Positive and Negative Paravent says, This Paravent is what you can call Function Art. The pattern used is inspired by the Arabian motifs and culture, yet the use of the Resin material gives a modern feel to it. The positive and negative statement shows how the effect of subtracting and adding shapes can be both an artistic and functional purpose. The purpose behind the design of this paravent is to preserve privacy with the ability of looking through, inspired by the concept of the Mashrabiya. The geometric patterns used are adapted and inspired by monumental Arabian architecture which is derived from the rich cultural heritage..
